About This Course

Hydronic systems can deliver exceptional comfort and efficiency, but performance often falls short due to piping decisions: undersized mains, excessive velocities and noise, short-cycling boilers, unstable delta-T, air and dirt issues, and zones that never balance.

This advanced CPD webinar is designed for professional engineers in Canada who design, review, or troubleshoot hydronic heating systems in residential, commercial, and light-industrial buildings. The course connects heat-transfer fundamentals to practical piping strategy: how to translate a heat-loss analysis into zone loads, flow rates, and pump selections; how to avoid velocity and head-loss traps; and how to choose layouts (primary/secondary, parallel zones, and hydraulic separation) that keep flow stable as controls modulate.

Canadian code and practice touchpoints are used where applicable, including CSA B214 (Installation code for hydronic heating systems) and the need to align documentation and installation expectations with the applicable building code and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). Occupant comfort and control stability are framed with reference to recognized comfort criteria (e.g., ASHRAE 55) where relevant.
