About This Course

The dynamics of the workforce are changing. The workplace is made up of individuals of all generations, cultures, and moral values. Expectations of Millennials vs. the older generation can be mixed. Attitudes and reactions to simple day-to-day management instruction can be interpreted in numerous ways.

Whether you have held a management position for several years or are just transitioning to a role which requires you to manage other individuals, you will find that becoming and remaining a good manager is often an art rather than just a technical skill.

This segment flows nicely with the segment on Managing Traits and Skills. This segment will focus on the dynamics of managing in a world full of several generations in the workforce as well as various cultures.

Key topics covered in this course include:

  • The Multi-Generational Landscape: A deep dive into the demographics, educational trends, and work-life expectations of Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z, including a look ahead at Generation Alpha.
  • Tailored Management Strategies: Specific techniques for motivating, rewarding, and retaining each generation, such as offering autonomy to Gen X or purpose-driven work to Millennials.
  • Cultural Competence: Strategies for understanding and respecting cultural differences, adapting communication styles, and managing diverse teams across geographical boundaries.
  • Navigating the New Normal: Addressing modern challenges including hybrid work models, the gig economy, mental health awareness, and the ethical use of AI in the workplace.
  • Conflict Resolution and Case Studies: Real-world scenarios and case studies that demonstrate how to apply adaptive leadership styles to resolve cross-generational conflicts and improve project outcomes.

Whether you are a seasoned executive seeing shifts in your team's behavior or a new manager stepping into a leadership role, this course provides the roadmap for bridging gaps and leveraging diversity as a strength. Join us to learn how to move beyond stereotypes, facilitate knowledge transfer between generations, and create a resilient, innovative, and inclusive workplace culture.
