About This Course

Part 1 – In this part of the course, 4 Invaluable Feedback Skills, you will learn how to give feedback constructively and professionally so it is more readily accepted. Psychologists Peter Quarry and Eve Ash provide effective ways to give feedback, even when a situation or person is challenging and the person is negative or disagrees with the feedback, or gets very emotional.

Part 2 – In Understanding Personality Differences, psychologists Eve Ash and Peter Quarry define personality and provide practical methods for managing personality differences.

Part 3 – This part of the course, Case Studies – Unreliable and Incompetent People, features psychologist Peter Quarry providing skills and strategies to deal with an incompetent manager, an unreliable co-worker and how to call out inappropriate behavior. You will learn to communicate your needs to the manager while negotiating outcomes, staying flexible and sharing coping strategies with others. And for unreliable co-workers, Peter provides a simple formula, to explain why their behavior causes problems and how to use a more powerful approach to hold them to account if they continue to be unreliable. The video, Call Out Inappropriate Behavior, will encourage teams set up ground rules and help those who witness or experience inappropriate behavior and comments, to call it out so it stops.

Part 4 – In this section, Reduce Anger and Resolve a Personality Clash In Diffusing Anger, you will learn skills for how to diffuse anger, how to manage your own anger and use it productively, and how to resolve a personality clash with another person in your team. The Personality Clash video provides a case study with a conflict between Anne and Kim who are very different culturally and in their work styles. Discover how Anne takes the lead and sets up an open discussion where they give each other feedback, discuss their differences and provide a road map for others to come to a resolution for an effective working relationship.

Part 5 – In this section, Motivate with Recognition, you will see two short documentary style videos with practical examples. If you want the very best from staff and co-workers, immediate recognition and honest feedback are the best ways to motivate and improve performance.
