Presented by Michael Steffany, Esq. (Withers Bergman LLP, U.S.) and Martin D. Killer (Grant Thornton UK Advisory & Tax LLP), the course delves into both U.S. tax reporting obligations and global CRS frameworks affecting financial institutions, family offices, and multinational entities.

Through practical insights and real-world examples, the program covers:

  • Key differences between FATCA (U.S.) and CRS (OECD) frameworks
  • The impact of CRS 2.0 and CARF (Crypto Asset Reporting Framework) launching in 2026
  • Classification rules for financial institutions and non-financial entities
  • Data validation, governance, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Global enforcement trends and compliance audits
  • Best practices for cross-border tax transparency and reporting accuracy

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the scope and purpose of FATCA and CRS regimes
  • Evaluate institutional compliance risks under IRS, OECD, and domestic frameworks
  • Implement effective due diligence and data management protocols
  • Prepare their organizations for enhanced international reporting under CRS 2.0
