About This Course

With estate disputes in blended families steeply on the rise due to poor planning, this session is designed to equip financial advisers with an understanding of the risks and the strategies available to their clients in the estate planning phase to prevent later court battles.

Delivered by Ann Janssen, Divisional Head and Special Counsel, Estate First Lawyers and Kylie Costigan, Special Counsel at Estate First Lawyers. They will take you through a practical case study and help advisers to understand the categories of eligible applicants in family provision claims, what estate vs non-estate assets are open for claim, and estate planning strategies to minimise the estate/reduce the risk of claims.
