About This Course

Build confidence and have fun learning and speaking English as it is really spoken. Learn and improve your English skills for work to understand more and speak more professionally.

The videos are part of the Cutting Edge Basic English Series which features great characters in amusing situations with fun storylines. It optimizes learner engagement in real conversations, with practical activities that are immediately applicable in the workplace, and in everyday life. The learning approach is founded on proven language learning principles presented in an innovative and effective style.

Each section is designed to build confidence in speaking conversational English and offers opportunities to practice and recap the lessons.

Section 1 - Let’s go will help the learner confidently make suggestions using phrases like: Let’s … Why don’t…? How about…? Learn some basic English grammar – prepositions of time: in, out, on. Master common phrases used in everyday speech to respond positively to suggestions and build vocabulary for months and seasons.

Section 2 - How was your week? In this section learn to talk about the days of the week and what you did. Learn essential grammar – Simple Past tense – regular and irregular. Master expressions to use in speech – do and make, and build your vocabulary of words.

Section 3 - Comparing. In this section you will learn to compare and describe what is the same or different and simple grammar of comparatives (-er) and irregular comparatives. Master common phrases and expressions to use in speech and build vocabulary of words – adjective opposites – for describing people and things.

Section 4 - Do you like them? In this section learn to talk about things you like using key phrases. Learn simple grammar – Count and non-count nouns, much and many. Master expressions to use in speech and build your vocabulary of words.
