About This Course

Build confidence and have fun learning and speaking English as it is really spoken. Learn and improve your English skills for work to understand more and speak more professionally.

This course includes videos that are part of the Cutting Edge Basic English Series which features great characters in amusing situations with fun storylines. It optimizes learner engagement in real conversations, with practical activities that are immediately applicable in the workplace, and in everyday life. The learning approach is founded on proven language learning principles presented in an innovative and effective style.

Build confidence in speaking conversational English and use the practice activities to recap the lessons.

Section 1 - Be careful. In this section, learn to talk about being careful with eating, being in the sun, rain and snow, and in the office, and learn simple grammar – should, have to, must. Master expressions to use in speech – be careful, look …! watch …! a red flag, screw up, shoot yourself in the foot, and build your vocabulary of words – too and very. Practice speaking using – be careful, should, have to, must, very, too;

Section 2 - Chatting. In this section, learn to ask questions and confidently chat to others – chat about ourselves, chat about vacations, chat about family, chat about sports, chat about work, chat about the weather. Learn simple grammar – don’t imperatives and master expressions to use in speech – make sure, show you are listening. Build your vocabulary of words – last, mistake. Practice chatting about the weather and asking questions.

Section 3 - Can I help you? In this section learn how to offer help and learn simple grammar – want and to infinitive. Master expressions to use in speech – a leg up, in deep water, speak up, fresh out, give up and build your vocabulary of words – a lot, a lot of, confident, maybe.

Section 4 - What are you going to do? In this section, l earn to speak about the future – later today, tonight, tomorrow, this weekend, next week, next month and learn simple grammar – will, going to. Master expressions to use in speech – at last, call it quits, keep at it, lose weight and build your vocabulary of words – next, goal. Practice speaking about what are you going to do and what will happen.
