About This Course

What separates people in the business world is the strategic level at which they think. Generally, strategic-level thinking is broader, more creative, and big-picture, and more senior people think at that level. This course will help you see the level of your thinking when looking at many scenarios and also improve it, no matter what level you are at in your organization. If you can think more like your boss, the CEO, the board, the owner, or the partners, you will be ahead. This course is not about flow charts and theory, but includes over 25 practical, real-life examples.

  • What is higher level strategic thinking?
  • How do you think at a higher strategic level?
  • What is your current thinking level?

The course is taught using over 25 short scenarios to improve your thinking in the areas of business, systems, technology, tax, compensation, organization, international business, risk management, and more.

Past course feedback tells you want you really need to know:

  • Really great course to help reframe your strategic thinking and understand the viewpoints of different stakeholders at organizational levels.
  • I will be able to take the tools from this course and apply them in my day-to-day role (controller) and communicate more effectively with my team and higher ups to develop strategic plans
  • I enjoyed this course as it helped reinforce the idea that I should stop and consider “the forest even when we are deep in the trees”
  • Framework is good, people can ask themselves "Am I thinking like an accountant or a strategic partner in this discussion" Simple and straightforward, easy to remember
  • I liked the real life scenarios that were presented – not only practical but a wide variety of them.
  • This course allows the audience to glimpse what is on the mind of their boss and their boss’s boss—it is like insider trading for corporate thoughts (lol).
  • Your new course teaches, in 2 hours, skills that took you years to master
  • You are teaching what different positions think about the same issue—the course is a blueprint to identify where the pain is for each position in the company.
  • Really liked the concept of this course based on practical examples rather than simply pure theory. First time I have experienced this and I would recommend to anyone no matter what level of the organisation you are operating!
  • I really enjoyed the session. Strategic thinking has always interested me as I don't feel it is a strength of mine and am always impressed by those who I feel are stronger in that area than I am
  • This two-hour presentation effectively covers many years of strategic thinking into a fast-paced, impactful course.
  • It delivers exactly what was promised—no fluff, no BS, just valuable insights.
  • I think the course was very pertinent.  I sometimes do forget about the big picture.
  • Case studies allow people to get a sense of what their current "go-to" response level is so will allow people to challenge themselves …..seems like a lot of them were situations participants related to
  • Fast paced, hands-on, practical presentation on how to train our minds to think at a higher level and maximize our contribution to our organizations, families and our development
  • This two hour course on strategic thinking is informative and interactive. It is filled with real life scenarios that will force you to look at strategic thinking differently than you have in the past.
  • The course showed me how people in different stages of life/career look at things differently.
