About This Course

We are at a time in our nation’s history when being a good leader or manager can be the difference between an organization surviving and one that cannot meet its goals. Good and great managers should never stop learning; this is what makes them effective.

This course will consider some of those concepts, as well as factors regarding the current and emerging needs that managers should address in today’s economy.

Many courses deal with leadership and manager skills. Whether you have held a management position for several years or are just transitioning to a manager role, you will find that becoming or remaining a good manager can often be an art rather than just a technical skill. It can be—and should be—a learning and an ever-evolving process.

Key topics covered in this course include:

  • Differentiating between personal traits and teachable skills to build a balanced management toolkit.
  • Analyzing the behavioral gaps between amateur, professional, and elite managers.
  • Implementing the Clarity Loop to ensure alignment between assignments and expected outcomes.
  • Mastering the art of difficult conversations by separating behavior from identity.
  • Navigating the challenging transition from peer or individual contributor to supervisor.
  • Utilizing deliberate practice to master new management competencies effectively.
  • Developing strategies to foster psychological safety and encourage innovation within teams.

Whether you are stepping into a management role for the first time or looking to refine years of experience, this course provides the insights needed to elevate your performance. You will engage with self-assessment tools to evaluate your current operational effectiveness and review complex case studies, such as the Dynamic Manufacturing scenario, to observe these concepts in action. By the end of this course, you will be equipped with the knowledge to not only drive results but to build a lasting legacy of leadership excellence.
