About This Course

This course is practical for anyone who has suffered trauma or shock, or offers support and counsel on people's journeys to healing. It will start by defining what healing is and setting the goal of attaining resolution and inner peace. You will learn the exercises that are used for collapsing the specific images and emotions related to incidents of shock and trauma.

Steve has a B.Sc. degree in Health and Human Services and has been a Registered Clinical Counsellor since 1989. He has worked at three stockbroking firms and as a private investigator in England. He moved to Canada in 1978 and worked with Penticton Community Resources from 1980 to 1989 and then with Pathways Addictions Resource Centre in Penticton from 1989 to 2023. He became the staff Clinical Supervisor in 2014. During this time he was also a court services Justice of the Peace. He is presently providing counselling services at Wild Mountain Clinical Counselling. Along with fellow counsellors Alicia Totten and Tammy Semple, he also produced an online course under the title ‘Children and Youth: Dissipating Depression, Anxiety & Trauma’. Steve is the originator of the Detachment Technique that is specifically used for sufferers of PTSD. A free DTech App is also provided and details can be viewed at www.detachmenttechnique.com He has authored two books on energy psychology and PTSD entitled, `Rapid Recovery: Accelerated Information Processing & Healing` and ‘PTSD: Cleaning and Clearing Shock & Trauma’ and has also authored the books’12 Steps to Authenticity’ and ‘The Book of Existential Questions’. He has also produced three online video courses about PTSD, Existentialism and Addictions, as well as audible courses on these same subjects. Steve’s awards include being named Citizen of the Year in 1987, the Downtown Rotary Club’s Good Citizen Award, the Sports Leadership Award in 2001, the Sports BC President’s Award in 2004, and in 2012 he was inducted into the Athletics BC Hall of Fame. He was presented with a lifetime achievement award from Triathlon BC and was recently named as an honored listee in the Marquis Who’s Who.
