About This Course

The course begins by introducing key behavioral science concepts that provide an alternative to Modern Portfolio Theory for understanding and investing in financial markets. How our brains drive behavior is explored, along with the consequences of Thinking, Fast and Slow, as introduced by Daniel Kahneman in his 2013 book.

The most important cognitive errors made by investors are described, as well as how one can avoid them. The eight foundational concepts critical for becoming a successful behavioral investor are provided. Behavioral price opportunities are common, and the behavioral proxies for identifying them in selecting the best active equity funds, the best stocks, and the best equity markets are explained.

Active Equity Opportunity is presented as a way to identify the market environments most conducive to stock-picking success. The course ends with a discussion of the emotional triggers that need to be controlled to reap superior returns.
